They use internal field only.

@Prashant noticed that the face point order may be jumbled in the ensight conversion - needs investigating but likely that the ensight part uses point compaction with increasing point order whereas the patch tools use point compaction in face visit order.

the ensight issue was actually related to the jumbled face ordering (tri, quad, nsided)
