OpenFOAM mesh to 2D Ansys fluent mesh

Hello,

I've asked this here since nearly 9 months ago. The foamMeshToFluent utility can convert only 3D meshes to Ansys Fluent Mesh. Is there any tool that generates 2D Fluent Mesh from OpenFOAM?

As you know, in OpenFOAM if we want to do a 2D simulation we create a 3D mesh with at least one cell thick in the third dimension and specifying it as empty Boundary condition.

IMO, it is more natural to have a tool or at least adding some options to the existing foamToFluentMesh utility to convert these 2D meshes to 2D mesh for Ansys Fluent.

Thank you
