Packages for Ubuntu 21.10 "impish" not available
I guess you probably already have it at the radar, I am just not sure if you know that the Ubuntu 21.10 is out already since last week (I also expected it this week).
Happy to test it in any case! (just waiting for it before I upgrade)

Hi @MakisH - Not only on the "todo" radar, but it has also managed the "???" list (substitute any three letters for cursing). For a while now I've been using the build.opensuse.org infrastructure. Always works really well, except there is something seriously corrupt with how impish is working.
Read and scratch your head: https://build.opensuse.org/package/live_build_log/home:openfoam/openfoam2106deb/xUbuntu_21.10/x86_64
FWIW it seems that I am not the only one experiencing this failure for impish builds.

There is now a package for Ubuntu 21.10 and a simple test seems to be running fine. Thanks a lot again!

Thanks for the feedback. Did you experience any general Ubuntu issues on the way? (in case I decide to upgrade my laptop soon)

Unfortunately, I only tried in a VM specifically for this purpose. Upgrading will take a bit longer, I will let you know if I gain any wisdom to share.

@MakisH - added "jammy" to the repos, in case you still like being on the bleeding edge of ubuntu.
- Author
@mark thanks, that was fast!
I just installed the 22.04 beta and OpenFOAM v2112 seems to be running fine (with the same #1914 (closed))
One thing to note is that ParaView is currently not available by default; it is only available via
jammy-proposed
. I did not find any issue regarding this, so I assume it will be added (eventually).

Hi @MakisH - in case you still like earlier testing: have updated repos to include kinetic as well.

I am now back to the LTS (and starting to look for a better integrated distribution in the future), but I will try out in a VM in the next days.
If you also have preview packages for v2212, that would also be very nice.

On a VM with 22.10, OpenFOAM v2212 seems to work (tried the flange tutorial with laplacianFoam). I tried sourcing the
etc/bashrc
automatically both under Wayland and Xorg, no issues while logging in.
