turbulence off denotes 'frozen' turbulence, i.e. you don't evolve them.

        Hello Mattijs,

So just to confirm, turbulence off is not intended as a replacement for the laminar turbulence model. Rather, it would probably be used to switch on turbulence after a certain number of iterations, after the basic flow and pressure fields have started to settle down and converge.

Would it be possible to clarify / include this somewhere in the official OpenFOAM documentation? This was something which came up during a Thesis work, and the university could also not explain the differences between laminar and turbulence off. There is no information in the forums either.

If my interpretation of the feature is correct, you can close the issue as solved.

I will leave it open till I receive a feedback.

Thank you very much for your help.

        Regards, Philippose
